Education and Support Drop-In Group

 

Session 1: Orientation to group, importance of emotions,  skills training for managing different types of emotions, problem solving strategies

Session 2: Untwisting our thinking, thinking traps, strategies for managing our environment, introduction to mindfulness

Session 3: Exploring values, on-track and off-track thinking, working towards setting boundaries in relationships

Session 4: Setting realistic goals, identifying difficult emotions and creating safety plans to plan for success in managing these emotions

Session 5: Distress tolerance skills, mindfulness, problem solving sequence to change, overview and wrap up. 

These sessions continue to be of no-cost thanks to the funding by the Wellness Network

Facilitator: Kimberly Masliuk-Giddings, MSW RSW and supported by a student Intern

Attend as many meetings as needed.

These support groups are intended to be a safe, confidential, supportive and non-judgmental space for those who are seeking support to better regulate their emotions.
